Forty seven year old Marge Christensen finds her husband, Gene, dead in their garage, slumped over the steering wheel of his still running BMW. The police rule the death a suicide. Marge does not believe Gene killed himself. Although likely suspects for murder and fraud do not abound in the suburban community of Bellevue, Washington, with perseverance and basic sleuthing, Marge discovers the truth in spite of the doubts and cautions from the police, her two adult children, and hovering and obsessively attentive neighbors.
On a quiet spring afternoon, Marge Christensen discovers a body buried in a park in suburban Seattle. She has no intention of getting involved, until her friend's husband is arrested for the crime. With perseverance and a disregard for her own safety, Marge discovers what really happened My Thoughts - Looking at the covers and reading the titles I genuinely didn't think I was going to like these at all. I didn't think I could identify with the main character who is forty seven woman because I'm a bit younger. BUT These books are VERY well written and I couldn't help but be sucked in and I enjoyed both! Wonderful curl up on the couch and get away kind of books!

Hmm, it seems strange to me to have such an open comment line, as though no one cares enough about these two interesting and well written books to monitor this site.
I inhale books but would only continue to access sites that focus only on the books under discussion.
However, I wish you all the best, Pat. Looking forward to book 3, Jody
Very well written books. They are both page turners that you can't put down. I'm not much of a mystery person but I couldn't get enough of these. As for the comment above. I know for a fact that the owner of this blog site works very hard and monitors this site well. I also inhale books and would love to find more books as well written as these. Jody could you provide your blog info so we can take a peek at what you have to offer. I'm sure once the book is in the hands of the readers we will all come together to discuss the content. Can't put the cart before the horse. Looking forward to viewing your blog.
This sounds perfect for my book club's monthly selection!

What advice do you give to new authors?
Jody, Thank you for stopping by. Please rest assured that I do monitor my site. I'm really puzzled as to what you are even talking about really but best of luck to you :)
Thank you all for your comments.
I wish you all good luck in the contest.
I would love to see the books read by your bookclub, Ruthiekb72.
Denise, the best advice I can give to new authors is 1) keep on writing, 2) join a writer's group, 3) get good editing and listen to what the editor says. There are so many ways to go about publishing and promoting these days, but the first step is to have as good a product as you can produce.
I love mysteries and citizen sleuths are way more interesting than professionals.

I agree about "citizen sleuths", Stephanie, which is the reason I started the Marge Christensen Mystery Series. I couldn't find enough of them to read, so I decided I had to write my own! Then when I discovered Sisters in Crime I realized I had a lot more to read than I thought, but by then I was hooked on writing them, too.
It sounds like a great mystery
