One Season of Sunshine Review

Should some questions be left unanswered?

Adopted as an infant, Jane Aaron longs to know the identity of her birth mother and why she gave her up. Her only clue is the name of the small Texas town where she was born, so she's come to Cedar Springs for answers.

Handsome ad executive Asher Price lost his wife, the beautiful, mysterious Susanna, in a terrible car crash eighteen months ago. When he hires Jane as the nanny for his two children, sparks fly. Jane finds herself falling in love with both Asher and his children, but begins to suspect that Susanna was not the perfect mother and wife the family portrays her to have been.

As Jane gets closer and closer to finding out the truth about both her own and Susanna's past, devastating secrets begin to emerge that may be more than anyone can bear. Will the truth bring Jane and Asher closer together or tear them apart forever?

My Thoughts - I stayed up late last night reading this, I couldn't put it down. That's saying a lot
because I read a lot of books, not to mention value my sleep. Jane has everything, her life is perfect - a loving adopted family who love her, a hot musician boyfriend who adores her and wants to marry her - but something just isn't right. She doesn't fit in and she needs to find herself. She moves to her birthplace for the summer to start her search and becomes Nanny to widower Asher Price's children.

Julia nailed Asher's daughter, Riley's teenage angst and how her little brother Levi dealt with his mom's death and his dad going away on business by acting out. The characters were very likeable and you always understood where they were coming from. I'm not going to give away any spoilers but I will say I was sitting on the edge of my seat towards the end of the book. This would be a great book club pick, there is soooo much to talk about.
Julia London just earned herself a new fan!

Lucky you, it even comes with a reader's guide.

Desire Me 5 Book Giveaway & blog tour

The Legend Hunters . . .
The Men of Solomon's meet in secret, their very existence only a rumor among the best of Victorian society. They are treasure hunters, men of wealth and title, seekers of myths and legends. And no legend is as mystifying as the lost city of Atlantis . . .

DESIRE ME

Years ago, Maxwell Barrett found a map to Atlantis and dedicated his life to the search for the mystical lost continent. But when an alluring woman makes a wager for the priceless artifact, he may have discovered an even greater treasure.

A descendant of Atlantis, Sabine Tobias needs the map to decipher an ancient prophecy. What she doesn't need are the sparks flying between her and Max. He's too devilishly charming to be trusted: The fate of her people is at stake as well as her heart. Yet a ruthless killer also covets the map. Now Max and Sabine must race to decode the prophecy's riddle before this criminal fulfills his deadly mission.

Blog Tour - Masked By Moonlight

IN THIS STUNNING FIRST BOOK FROM NANCY GIDEON’S SIZZLING NEW SERIES, A TENACIOUS COP AND HER SHAPE-SHIFTING ENEMY SACRIFICE EVERYTHING FOR FORBIDDEN DESIRE.

ALL SHE WANTS IS REVENGE.

New Orleans homicide detective Charlotte Caissie is dedicated to bringing down the crime boss responsible for her father’s murder. Using Jimmy Legere’s mysterious and irresistible right-hand man is a dangerous gamble, and not only due to his reputation as more monster than man. Because her feelings for Max Savoie are . . . complicated.

THEN HE RISKS HIS LIFE TO SAVE HERS.

Rescued from the swamps as a child, Max exists silently in Legere’s shadow, heeding only his voice—until Charlotte Caissie awakens his emotions and tests his loyalties. Stepping outside his cautious rules threatens more than just his heart. He could expose his darkest secret.

NOW THEY’RE BOTH IN OVER THEIR HEADS.

Testing boundaries they weren’t meant to cross means facing the truth about who and what they are—and what they need from each other. If Max is the murderer she seeks, Charlotte could be his next victim. She can’t afford to trust any man. Good thing Max isn’t one.

Excerpt from Masked by Moolight

My Thoughts - Looking at the cover you'd never imagine this book to be so complex and well written.
I even showed it to my friend and she thought it was going to be some cheesy romance novel but it wasn't. It's everything I love...well written characters, paranormal, crime mystery, humor, and a little romance. This is the first book in this series. I'm looking forward to reading the rest!

Knight of Passion 5 Book Giveaway

HOW CAN THIS PASSIONATE KNIGHT...
Renowned beauty Lady Linnet is torn between two desires: revenge on those who destroyed her family or marriage to her childhood sweetheart Sir James Rayburn. One fateful night, she makes a misguided choice: she sacrifices Jamie's love for a chance at vengeance.

TRUST A BEAUTY WITH A PAST?
Jamie Rayburn returns to England in search of a virtuous wife-only to find the lovely Linnet as bewitching as ever. Their reckless affair ignites anew, even hotter than before, although Jamie vows to never again trust her with his heart. Then just as Linnet begins to make amends, she's tempted by one last opportunity to settle old scores. But a final retribution could cost her Jamie's love - this time forever.

Five Fun Facts

1. In 1425, prostitution was illegal in the City of London so men crossed the river to visit the prostitutes who were under the regulation of the Bishop of Winchester. The prostitutes, nick-named the Winchester geese, paid fees to the Bishop.

2. “The clink” was the Bishop of Winchester’s jail. This is where our expression “in the clink” came from.

3. London Bridge was the only bridge across the Thames from London. If the Bishop sent armed men to close off the bridge on his side of the river, you would have to take a barge to visit the prostitutes.

4. London Bridge was crowded with buildings that hung over the sides of the bridge and crossed overhead. Wealthy merchants were willing to put up with the occasional severed head on display because it was such prime real estate.

5. Henry IV’s wife, Henry V’s step-mother, and Henry VI’s uncle’s wife were all accused of using witchcraft to influence succession to the throne—and the charges may have been true.

Welcome to Harmony Blog Tour and Giveaway

Sixteen- year - old runaway Reagan has always wanted a place to belong. She's never had a real home of her own, but maybe she can borrow someone else's. At least for a little while...

At the nursing home where Reagan works, Miss Beverly Truman's fond memories of Harmony, Texas, seem to fill an empty space inside the girl. After Miss Beverly passes away, Regan travels to Harmony, pretending to be the woman's granddaughter, and is taken into the home of Beverly's surviving brother.

Still, Reagan is afraid to trust the gruff kindness show to her by Jeremiah Truman and the warm friendship offered by another teenager named Noah, who dreams of being a rodeo star. She keeps her distance from Noah's sister, Alex McAllen, who's the town sheriff and busy with her own stormy relationship with the volunteer fire chief Hank Matheson.

But when prairie fires threaten Harmony, Reagan learns the true meaning of family, friends, and home...

My Thoughts - This is the first in an Trilogy of a small town’s founding three families (the McAllen, Matheson and The Truman’s) This book has a great story along with great subplots as well. I became emotionally attached to the characters and I feel this book really embraces small town life. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Something about Rugged farm boys really does it for me! I find the idea of a ranch the perfect set for a romance novel and this one didn't disappoint!
